Digital Sewing Circle FAQ

Do I need to be an experienced quilter to join?

Nope! All skill levels are welcome — from “I just bought my first fat quarter” to “I’ve been quilting since before the internet.” Everyone fits in.

What will we actually do during the session?

We sew. We chat. Some people ask questions, some quietly stitch along. You work on whatever project you want — completely no prep.

Do I need my camera on?

Nope! Cameras on are optional. (But if you want to show your progress, cameras on can be fun.)

Can I join from a phone or tablet?

Yes! Zoom works on any device — you don’t need fancy equipment.

Will the session be recorded?

No, this is meant to be a live, in-the-moment sewing circle.

How many people will be there?

Each session is limited to 15 participants so it stays cozy, personal, and easy to chat.

Do I need a Zoom Pro account?

No — you’ll join using my link, and your free Zoom account works perfectly.

Can I ask questions during the session?

Absolutely. Unmute when you want to chime in, or use the chat if you’re feeling shy (or if your sewing machine is loud).

What if I can’t come after I buy a ticket?

Tickets are non-refundable, but you’re welcome to give your spot to a friend. Just email me their name and email address.

What should I bring?

Any project you want to work on, your sewing machine, a cozy drink, and maybe a snack. That’s it.

Will there be a specific project or homework?

Nope. This circle is no-prep, no-pressure. Bring old WIPs, new ideas, or whatever you have going on — UFOs are fully welcome.

Why does this cost money?

The fee helps keep the group small, supports the time and tools needed to run the session, and ensures it stays a cozy, high-quality space for everyone.
